SEEL — Emotional Development

A child who understands themselves understands others.

SEEL — Emotional Development

Emory University's SEEL program develops focus, compassion, and proper communication skills step by step. Your child will grow to understand themselves and others, recognize and manage emotions, and become a resilient, compassionate, ethical person. This is a foundational skill needed not just in school, but throughout life.

Methodology

Lessons are built on simple, child-friendly practices that connect directly to daily life. Breathing exercises for focus, noticing body sensations, and short emotion-recognition activities develop children's ability to observe themselves. Games, role-play, conversation, and case studies build the habits of understanding others' feelings, communicating well, and resolving conflict. The approach is "feel it rather than be taught it": children understand through their own experience, reflect, and apply it every day.
